This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation and Definitions

The words whose initial letters are capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

• Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
• Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
• Application refers to Sharecipe, the software program provided by the Company.
• Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Ferki Studios, 463 Armadale Ave.
• Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device or any other device by a website, containing the details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.
• Country refers to: Ontario, Canada.
• Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cell phone or a digital tablet.
• Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Service refers to the Application or the Website or both.
• Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
• Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
• Website refers to Sharecipe, accessible from https://sharecipe.ca.
• You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Personal Data. While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to: Your email address; Your first and last name (optional — if You provide a display name or sign in with a third-party provider); and Usage Data.

Third-Party Sign-In

You may create an account or sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. When You do, the provider shares a limited set of information with Us: a stable account identifier, Your email address (with Apple, this may be a private relay address if You choose Hide My Email), and — on Your first sign-in — Your name, which We use as Your editable display name. We never receive Your Apple or Google password, contacts, or any other data from Your provider account.

The provider identifier is stored solely to recognize Your account on future sign-ins. If You delete Your account, We revoke the app's Sign in with Apple authorization with Apple as part of deletion.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device's unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies We use include beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service.

• Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service.
• Web Beacons. Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons that permit the Company to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics.

We use both Session and Persistent Cookies for the purposes below:

• Necessary / Essential Cookies (Session): help authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts. Without these, the services You have asked for cannot be provided.
• Cookies Policy / Notice Acceptance Cookies (Persistent): identify if users have accepted the use of cookies on the Website.
• Functionality Cookies (Persistent): remember choices You make when You use the Website, such as Your login details or language preference, to give You a more personal experience.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
• To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service, and give You access to the different functionalities of the Service available to registered users.
• For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services You have purchased, or of any other contract with Us through the Service.
• To contact You by email, telephone, SMS, or other electronic communication, such as push notifications, regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or services, including security updates, when necessary or reasonable.
• To provide You with news, special offers, and general information about other goods, services and events which We offer, unless You have opted not to receive such information.
• To manage and respond to Your requests to Us.
• For business transfers: to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets.
• For other purposes: data analysis, identifying usage trends, and evaluating and improving our Service, products, marketing and Your experience.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations: with Service Providers, to monitor and analyze use of the Service; for business transfers; with Affiliates (who must honor this Privacy Policy); with business partners, to offer You certain products, services or promotions; with other users, if You share personal information or interact in public areas of the Service; and with Your consent, for any other disclosed purpose.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and policies. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when used to strengthen security or improve the functionality of the Service, or where We are legally obligated to retain it longer.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located, which may be outside of Your jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by Your submission of such information, represents Your agreement to that transfer. The Company will take reasonably necessary steps to ensure Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You. In Sharecipe, You may delete Your account from the Account screen while signed in, or from the public Delete Account screen if You no longer have access. Deletion is immediate and permanent: We erase Your account record (including Your email address, username and password), Your recipes, Your uploaded photos, Your collections, tags, shopping list, meal plans and cooking log, and any recipe images still held in scan staging. We cannot recover this data afterwards, and We do not retain a deactivated copy of Your account.

Two things deliberately survive deletion. Purchase and subscription records are retained, with the link to You removed, because tax and accounting rules require Us to keep a record of transactions — they can no longer be associated with You or Your email address. Separately, if another user previously saved their own copy of a recipe You shared with them, that copy belongs to their account and is not deleted with Yours.

You may also update, amend, or delete Your information at any time by signing in to Your Account and visiting account settings, or by contacting Us directly. We may need to retain certain information where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

Service Providers and Subprocessors

Sharecipe is operated on infrastructure We run Ourselves. Recipe data, photos, application logs and performance traces stay on that infrastructure and are not sent to third-party analytics providers.

One third party may process Your content on Our behalf. If You are on a Pro or Chef plan and turn on premium parsing quality, the photos You scan and the recipe text extracted from them are sent to OpenRouter, which routes them to a third-party vision model, instead of the model We host Ourselves. OpenRouter acts as a processor on Our behalf and does not use Your content for its own purposes. Premium parsing is off unless You enable it; with it off, scan images are only processed by Our self-hosted model.

Google Play or the Apple App Store — whichever store You subscribed through — processes Your subscription payments. We never receive Your card details — We store only the purchase or transaction identifiers and subscription status needed to grant and verify Your plan.

Advertising

Sharecipe shows no advertising during normal use. The only ad in the app is optional: from the Scan screen You can choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn an extra scan. An ad is loaded only when You ask for one.

Rewarded ads are served by Google AdMob. To serve an ad and prevent fraud, Google may process device identifiers (such as the advertising ID on Android) and ad-interaction data under its own privacy policy. On iOS We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and ads are served on a non-personalized basis. Where consent is required — for example in the EEA and UK — Google's consent form is shown before an ad loads, and You can decline.

When You finish a rewarded ad, Google notifies Our server with Your account identifier so We can credit the extra scan to Your account. That is the only information about Your ad activity We receive.

Recipe Scanning

When You scan a recipe, the photos are uploaded to Our storage so the parsing job can read them, and are deleted as soon as the resulting recipe is saved. Anything left over — for example if You abandon a scan — is deleted automatically within a few hours, and immediately if You delete Your account. Photos You choose to attach to a saved recipe are kept until You remove the photo, the recipe, or Your account.

Diagnostics and Performance Data

We collect application logs and performance traces to operate the Service. Performance traces contain no Personal Data: they record request routes, response codes and timings, identified only by a randomly generated trace identifier. Application logs may contain Your account identifier, and Your email address where it is needed to diagnose a sign-in or email delivery failure. Both are stored on Our own infrastructure and are not shared.

We also collect first-party usage statistics to understand how the app is used: which screens are opened, whether recipe scans succeed, session length, and app performance such as start-up time and frame rate. These statistics are keyed by a random identifier generated on Your device, are never linked to Your Account, contain no recipes, photos, or Personal Data, are stored on Our own infrastructure, and are never shared with third parties. Where the law requires consent, such as in the EEA and UK, the app asks first and collects nothing if You decline. Everywhere else You can turn this off at any time in account settings ("Share anonymous usage statistics"), and "Reset analytics ID" disconnects past statistics from future ones.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business transactions: if the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred; We will provide notice before that happens.

Law enforcement: the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Other legal requirements: the Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good-faith belief that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the Company's rights or property, prevent or investigate wrongdoing connected to the Service, protect the personal safety of Users or the public, or protect against legal liability.

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Traffic between the app and Our servers is encrypted in transit; the app refuses to contact a non-HTTPS address. Your password is stored only as a salted hash, never in a readable form. On the iOS and Android apps, Your sign-in tokens are held in the device's secure keystore. On the web version they are held in ordinary browser storage, which is less resistant to attacks that run scripts in Your browser — if that matters to You, prefer the mobile apps and sign out of shared computers.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and are aware Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us; if We become aware We have collected such data without verified parental consent, We take steps to remove it from Our servers.

Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit; We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above; for material changes, We will let You know via email and/or a prominent notice on Our Service prior to the change becoming effective.

A note on this page's history

The policy shown in the Sharecipe app and at sharecipe.ca/PrivacyPolicy — the copy both app stores link to — was revised on August 3, 2026 to describe third-party sign-in, the optional rewarded ad, subscription billing through the stores, premium scan parsing, and exactly what account deletion erases. This courtesy copy went on showing the January 8, 2026 text until August 25, 2026, when it was brought back in line. The app's own policy was current throughout; this page simply lagged behind it, and it should not have.
