Sharecipe: Terms of Service
Last updated: August 3, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between You and Ferki Studios ("We", "Us") about Your use of Sharecipe — the mobile apps and the website at sharecipe.ca (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, You agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how We handle Your information and is part of the picture too.
What Sharecipe is
Sharecipe is a home for Your recipe collection. With an account You can create and edit recipes by hand, scan paper recipes with Your camera, organize them with tags and collections, share collections with people You choose, plan meals, keep a shopping list, and log what You cook. Some features are metered: every account includes a number of free camera scans each month, and optional paid plans add more (see "Free and paid plans" below).
You need an account to use the Service, and You are responsible for keeping Your sign-in credentials to Yourself and for what happens under Your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
Your recipes are Yours
You own the recipes, photos, notes, and everything else You put into Sharecipe. We claim no ownership of Your content.
So that the Service can work, You give Us permission to host, store, back up, and process Your content — including running Your scanned pages and photos through text-recognition and parsing (which, if You are on a plan with premium parsing and turn it on, may use the third-party processor named in Our Privacy Policy), and showing Your content to the people You choose to share it with. This permission exists only to operate the Service on Your behalf, and it ends when You delete the content or Your account — with two honest exceptions: if someone You shared a recipe with saved their own copy, that copy belongs to them; and purchase records are retained (unlinked from You) as described in the Privacy Policy.
Sharing
Sharing on Sharecipe is invite-only: You share a collection with a person You name, and they choose to accept. People You share with can see that collection's recipes, including photos, and Your username. You can stop sharing at any time; they can decline or leave at any time. Share only what You have the right to share, and be decent to the people You cook with.
Acceptable use
Use Sharecipe for what it's for — keeping and cooking from recipes. Don't use it to store or share content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or harasses anyone. Don't try to break, probe, or overload the Service, work around scan quotas or reward verification, access other people's accounts or data, or resell the Service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms; where practical, We will tell You why.
Free and paid plans
Adding, editing, and organizing recipes by hand is free — no limits, and We intend to keep it that way. Camera scans are metered: every account gets a free monthly allowance, and when You run out You can choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn an extra scan, or subscribe. Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Chef) add a larger monthly scan allowance and premium parsing quality; they never gate manual entry or access to recipes You already saved. Allowances and plan contents may change over time; if a change matters, We will say so plainly rather than bury it.
Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are sold and billed by the app store You bought them through — Google Play or Apple's App Store — never by Us directly. We never see Your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until You cancel, and cancellation happens in the store's own subscription settings (the app links You there); Your plan stays active until the end of the period You already paid for. Refunds are handled by the store under the store's own policies. If You delete Your Sharecipe account, cancel Your subscription too — deleting the account does not by itself stop the store from renewing it.
Ads
The only ads in Sharecipe are ones You ask for: when You are out of scans, You may choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn another. We never show banners or interrupt You with ads while You cook. Ads are served by a third-party ad network as described in the Privacy Policy; availability of rewarded ads is not guaranteed and earning is capped.
A few honest disclaimers
Scanning and parsing use machine reading, and machine reading makes mistakes — always review a scanned recipe before You rely on it. Calorie figures are rough estimates for Your own tracking, not medical or nutritional advice. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available": We work to keep it up and Your data safe, but We cannot promise the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
To the maximum extent the law allows, We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from Your use of the Service, and Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount You paid Us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (or, if You paid nothing, CAD $50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to You.
Ending things
You can stop using Sharecipe at any time, and You can delete Your account at any time — from the Account screen in the app, or from the public Delete Account page if You have lost access. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and what is erased and what little is retained is described honestly in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. If We ever discontinue the Service, We will give reasonable advance notice so You can act on Your data.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is significant, We will tell You — by email or a prominent notice in the Service — before it takes effect, and We will update the "Last updated" date above. Using the Service after a change takes effect means You accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes are resolved in Ontario's courts — except where the law of the place You live gives You rights and protections that cannot be limited this way.
